In Brisbane, Australia, Bil Keane, who went overseas in 1943 with the 1st Cavalry Division, was assigned duty doing publicity art for the Theater Fiscal Office of the United States Armed Forces in the Far East.  He promoted buying War Bonds and National Service Life Insurance to all service personnel in the Southwest Pacific.
